Guest Book

A detailed independent review of Petit Careme Villa, plus additional guest reports, is available on www.myTobago.info.

"Our family were looking for a venue for my daughter's wedding. We wanted somewhere that would be private and beautiful with a lot of outdoor space. Petit Careme met all our requirements. The day of the wedding came and what a wonderful experience we all had. The lawns were transformed into a beautiful yet simple garden setting maximizing on the natural surroundings. The huge tree in the middle of the lawn provided natural shade so tents, etc were not needed. Tables and chairs were well spaced out so there was no overcrowding. The kids (ages 3 - 7rs) all had a ball of a time as they had unlimited space to run about and so the parents had all the time to enjoy themselves. All in all, our entire family and friends had a most wonderful and enjoyable experience. The Villa itself was very comfortable and the pools provided the cool down after such a hectic weekend. Many thanks to Wayne for all the assistance given. Petit Careme - you will be seeing us again."

"I stayed at this apartment for three nights and it was quite lovely. The place is manicured with beautiful fauna ans flora with local greenery. The apartment and villa has the biggest garden due to its location, perfect for lounging and enjoying the outdoors. The apartment was properly outfitted with the basic requirements. Would definately stay again."

S.Mohammed - Trinidad - March 2012

"We recently vacationed in Tobago and stayed at "Petit Careme Villa". What a wonderful vacation we had. The Villa was beautiful and clean. Charmaine, the housekeeper was very pleasant and most helpful and I must add....she is a great cook.It was much nicer then the web-site. You have to see it to believe it. We spent many hours relaxing on the verandah enjoying the beautiful tropical colourful birds visiting the the feeders. I had the feeling of being in the tropical rain forest. The greenery was so lush and fresh. The beach was clean and the water so calm. The private splash pool was also much appreciated. We certainly plan to return."

Meg Watts - Canada - January 2012

"We booked the Petit Careme Villa for a "Fun Day", school outing, experience. There were 40 students and 5 teachers, all of whom gave raving reviews right throughout the day. The area is extremely beautiful, spacious, clean and relaxing. The villa is also gated and this allows alot of privacy and security. The students and teachers enjoyed themselves immensely. They are still talking about the great time they had. The housekeeper Charmaine was also excellent, willing to help and hospitable. She also made our experience a fantastic one. A hearty thank you is extended to you Mr. and Mrs. Barrow from the Form 5 class at Bishops High School. We give 2 thumbs up and we definitely will be visiting again."

Ms.Davidson - Tobago - November 2011

"Petit Careme Villa/Apt Mount Irvine is like my second home. For Trinis living outside of Trinidad and Tobago it is a breath of fresh air (home air). Wish we had villas like this one in Trinidad. I would recomment Petit Careme Villa as the #1 family spot in Tobago."

Larry G.Edwards - Columbia - July 2011

"This was my family's third stay at Petit Careme and once again it was really relaxing and serene. The Villa and apartment offer great accommodation. The grounds are also a green paradise. There were a few issues but once we spoke to Charmaine and Wayne, they were resolved asap. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay at Petit Careme."

Brent Budhooram - Trinidad - April 2011

"Our stay at Petit Careme was wonderful and relaxing. At the villa, we spent hours on the lovely veranda enjoying the comfortable Adirondack chairs and hammock, and we loved the little splash pool, too. The hosts were friendly and helpful, and the compound had very good security. Perhaps best of all, the sweet housekeeper made our stay especially memorable by preparing us a wonderful home-cooked Tobagonian meal! Really the only drawback to the villa is no view of the ocean. But otherwise just a great place to stay with great owners."

Brian Aufderheide - Trinidad - March 2011

"Our 6th stay in Tobago over the last 10 years, all of them spent in different villas. We selected this one largely on the back of good reports from this great website, but also because we received good communication from the owners early in our enquiries which I always think is important. This villa and location was the best we have stayed in to-date (and certainly not the most expensive we have stayed in), scoring highly on quality of accomodation, space, location, and service. We stayed a week in February. The grounds are lovely, the (shared) pool is large and warm because it is in the sun most of the day, and everthing inside and outside is well maintained. The bird life that can be attracted onto the veranda is like being at Grafton bird sanctuary. Charmaine was delightful, fun and helpful as all the other reports will testify. It's hard to fault the place...it was that good. But trying hard to do so, loosing three or four hours of peace and tranquility to the sound of the caretaker / gardener / night watchman revving his clapped out car to death as he worked on it during the middle of two days is perhaps a small price to pay, and certainly the only small neggy comment I have, but it might be worth a mention if this is a regular occurance I guess. Overall a great place to stay, quiet and peaceful in the main, very well maintained and a comfortable and safe place to base yourself in Tobago. Highly recommended."

"The Principal and Staff of Scarborough Secondary School wish to thank you sincerely for accommodating us at your villa, Petit Careme. The ambience was truly fantastic. The trees, the pool, the sunshine and rain made the day one that the staff will be talking about for a long time to come. Even though we did not go into the pool, just looking at it gave us this free, peaceful and happy holiday feeling that people have when everything is just perfect. There were thirty-eight (38) of us and we utilized the spacious verandah and the living/dining room area for relaxation. The space was just right for us. I must say that Charmaine, your housekeeper, was absolutely charming and pleasant, and made our day at Petit Careme very comfortable. Thank you, again. Several of the teachers have asked for your information so that they can return to the villa with their family or church group. This speaks of the wonderful impression that they experienced at Petit Careme Villa."

Brenda Casesar - Tobago - December 2010

"This villa was extremely nice, the grounds were extensive and well kept, and the birds greeting you on the porch was priceless. I recommend this villa for large groups and the price was very reasonable."

"I observed most of the reports uploaded are a bit short of information and confirmation and I am here to tell it like it is... My girlfriend and I were seeking a Tobago vacation for the weekend...and like you, I turned to the most comprehensive online database for help i.e. mytobago.info. I came across the Petit Careme Apartment after an advance search for a 1 bedroom accommodation. 4.5 of 5, pretty high and some lovely photos. But we know photos can tell a thousand lies. But in this case, they didn't!!! The Petit Careme Apartment is nothing less than 5 of 5, plus 1 for Charmaine; she is the "heart of the home". This is no Studio Apartment, it's a Home... excellent layout, electronically secured and located in a gated area. I just loved the hidden Laundry Area enclosed by bifolding closet doors. Ingenious! Washing machine, dryer, wash sink, hot and cold. Full kitchen...Electrical stove with a range, a smoke detector, dish washer, large fridge, microwave, etc plus cupboards with clean utensils and a modest dining table. Living room...32 inches of LCD TV, cable, dvd and cd stereo, small dvd library, and lots of magazines... Bedroom...clean, spacious, air conditioned with a queen size bed, a full bed and a crib with a connecting walk in closet. Bathroom...clean, connects to the bedroom and the living room, is spacious, vanity, ventilated by an extractor. Hmmm that was the inside. Just outside, lounge chair, outdoor chairs, table set, gas bar b q grill, a large well kept private garden, a large communal pool (very clean) with bar area and the Golf Course a few metres away. Free wireless internet, a gate controller (for the electronic gate), and a secure park in direct view from the front door and bedroom window. The Cons: The Bed was so damn comfortable, we woke up late every morning, too lazy to get up to see the Coricos. Because of that bed we weren't able to have any picnics in the private garden area nor take walks across the Golf Course to the beach. Long and short...we just didn't stay long enough. This place is wonderful, full of relaxing things to do...Money well spent. Already planning our next (longer) stay. Hats off to the Barrows and Charmaine. I got a peep of the Villa; it's even better...wow."

Timothy - Trinidad - November 2010

"During an extensive search for a getaway retreat location, Petit Careme came highly recommended by some co-workers. I must say it exceeded my expectations. It was unbelievable how relaxing the villa and its surrounding environment was. If you are looking for a true getaway, Petit Careme is it. My friends and I absolutely loved it and had a wonderful time. We will definitely return in the future."

Amy & Orlando Machado - U.S.A. - October 2010

"I stayed at the Apartment and it was very comfortable, spacious and fully outfitted with all the necessities I would have at home. The location was very secure and quiet. I am sure to return here on my next visit to Tobago."

Purnell Sookhai - Trinidad - September 2010

"Petit Careme is a beautiful villa, we spent six nights we had a wonderful vacation. I must say the villa was well kept, clean and well decorated. My kids just love and enjoyed the splash pool I am looking foward to stay at the villa again and would definitely recommed it to anyone."

Kim Narine - Trinidad - August 2010

"I must say that Petit Careme way exceeded mine and my family's expectations. The surroundings, the facilities, and especially the villa, we were all very comfortable and most of all we felt at home. We spent more time at the villa than we did sightseeing or at the beaches. We have stayed at a lot of other places before in Tobago and for me Petit Careme is the the best, you wake up to birds singing in the morning, the trees, the flowers and the greenery are all so relaxing to look at.I especially liked the decor, I would recommend Petit Careme to all my friends and family."

Diane Bellamy - Trinidad - August 2010

"I have been communicating with Merilee for maybe more than 2 months making arrangements, payments, etc.... all in anticipation of taking a small vacation that carry a degree of excitement... The short vacation with the wife and 2 kids was ideal. Good spirits, weather, tasty food, nice people and a very accomodating place to stay. The last email I wrote to Merilee was indeed kind of a sad one as it has all come to and end now. But it reminds me of these large dinners that you are always excited about. When the main course is served, they tell you to keep your fork in hand as dessert would be served. So as far as I know, keeping my fork is a signal that better things are yet to come. With that, I wish to express my thanks to Merilee and Villas on the Greens staff for your professionalism and hospitality in accomodating us in Tobago.... my trip was indeed worth every penny. I say goodbye with my fork in my hand and surely look forward to visiting Petit Careme again."

Robin Heeralai - Trinidad - July 2010

"I would definitely recommend Petite Careme Villa to anyone! My husband and I spent our 1st year Wedding Anniversary there and it was just fabulous! The villa has all amenities and is nestled in the midst of the most beautiful grounds with a wonderful garden and its incredible birdlife. The villa is huge and roomy and was kept tidy and spotless by Charmaine, the housekeeper. The private spa jacuzzi was wonderful for relaxing in, after a day out on the island. The Petite Careme experience is one that will always be remembered and sorted out for future vacations."

Chandra Ragoonanan - Trinidad - July 2010

"We have just returned from spending three wonderful weeks at the villa apartment. The apartment was excellent with all mod cons. The situation was fabulous, calm, quiet, view of the golf course. You do need to consider car hire. We got a really good deal from Colin Shephard at "Sheppy's". Really good swimming pool that was only used by us! Charmaine the housekeeper was excellent. She was extremely helpful and courteous. This has been our 5th visit to beautiful Tobago and the most relaxing yet. We will definately consider returning to the apartment if not the beautiful villa above should we return with friends. Thank you Merrilee and Rowle (owners)for your assistance."

Ann Hoyle - U.K. - July 2010

"My family and I stayed at Petit Careme for a weekend in July 2010 and we really enjoyed our stay there. The facilities were always clean, the apartment was spacious, the environment was heavenly. There was peace and quiet. The place was so cool that not once did we use the air-condition unit, we just kept the doors open. Any questions or anything we needed clarified we could easily call Charmaine, the housekeeper, and she was always willing to assist. We will definitely recommend Petit Careme as a place to stay in Tobago. Visit, you will definitely enjoy!"

Jaimie Bacchus - U.K. - July 2010

"If I had to pick one word to describe the villa, I would say "perfection". Tobago is already a beautiful island but the villa was the icing on the cake. My family and myself totally enjoyed our vacation at the Petit Careme, our only regret was that we did not make arrangements to stay even longer. I personally enjoyed the birds and the cleanliness of both the villa and the pools. Me and my family will surely return again and again!!!! I would certainly recommend this villa!!!"

"Serene and green, there are many words which can be used to describe Petit Careme Villa which is my home away from home. My family truly enjoyed the picture perfect ambiance and Charmaine's service was nothing short of excellent. Three bedrooms and three bathrooms, a kitchen that has all the amenities of a modern home, a veranda with a view to make your jaw drop and birds which appear to be trained makes this a photographer's nature haven. This was our second stay at the Villa and is definitely not going to be our last. We anxiously await our next vacation here. Cheers."
